One Month

16 days old

Big news: Travis's umbilical cord fell off today!! And we took him out to his very first restaurant to celebrate my Memaw's birthday! He was great and slept the whole time. Didn't start crying until we were walking out, thank goodness!

17 days old

We started tummy time with him and look how strong he is! He held his head up the whole five minutes or so he was on his belly before he decided to topple over onto his back. :)

18 days old

I've heard it's not possible to spoil a newborn, but I think I've done it. Travis refuses to sleep without being held. Maybe that's just a newborn thing though.

19 days old

We took him to the grocery store and he was pretty fussy towards the end. I felt bad for my crying baby so we made a quick trip. What do you do when your baby starts crying in public?

20 days old

We took Travis on his first walk today! He sat completely content the whole time until he fell asleep. And it felt incredible outside! We also finally got batteries for his swing and he loves it! :)

21 days old

We took Travis to Jon's bowling league for the first time! It went alright...I spent about half the time out in the car trying to feed him and get him back to sleep. And there were plenty of people coming up to us giving me all kinds of unwarranted advice. Travis was crying right after I had fed him and a woman came up to me insisting he was hungry and I needed to feed him. Thanks. And another woman was just astonished that we had brought him so early. We only have one car so I ended up having to tag along, but thanks for the concern. I wish people would just keep to themselves sometimes.

22 days old

We took Travis on another walk today! We walked four miles! It was awesome, but I was exhausted by the end. Then we brought him to Outback for dinner (I used to work there) and all of my coworkers were so excited to see us! (Well mainly him...but that's to be expected!) I've had so many people tell me how much older he looks in all of his pictures. I'm hoping that's a good thing...not too sure what it means, really. But we love our baby. :) Can't believe it's already been over three weeks!

23 days old

He looks so cute in this onesie, I just love it! Jon says he looks good in blue and red. :)

24 days old

We got a new pacifier and Travis loves it. He would never take the other newborn pacifiers we had, but these are fantastic. I'm so excited!

25 days old

We still do tummy time with Travis everyday, but he hasn't held his head up for as long as he did the first time we tried it. Now he just kicks his legs and gets frustrated when he's not going anywhere.

26 days old

A family friend bought this blanket for Travis and we love it! So soft and warm! He uses it all the time.

27 days old

That's my sister holding Travis in the first picture! And we introduced a bottle today! He seemed hesitant at first and it took awhile for him to get the first two ounces, but he downed the last ounce and then slept for a nice couple of hours! :)

One Month Old

Travis is one month old today! I can't believe I already have a one month old! At his two week appointment he had already gained two pounds (9 lbs 10 oz) so I can't imagine how much he weighs now!

He's lost almost all of the hair on the top of his head, but the back of his head still has thick dark hair. I'm curious to see if it comes back the same color because Jon was blonde as a baby. Travis looks slightly like a balding old man right now, though!

He's started smiling a little bit! He is too precious. :) I can't wait until he starts cooing and laughing with us! I try to play with him a lot to strengthen his neck, arms, and legs. He also will look right at us now, so obviously his sight is improving!

He rarely ever cries, and I love it. If he does cry, it's nothing that something simple won't fix and he's never crying for long. He still sleeps in the bed with us and has started sleeping for almost four hours straight every night. Yay!

He's able to fall asleep on his own now without being held and he loves his swing. He can fall right to sleep with either that or his pacifier.

This is the last time I'm going to have daily pictures, it will just be monthly from here on out!

  1. Aww I have a bald baby too! Hate when thier hair falls out! You are braver than me. We are almost at the two month mark and we still don't leave the house much because baby Reese HATES the paci. But I'd tell the onlookers to shove it... As if they've never seen a crying baby before, and if that doesn't scare them off, whip a boob out and feed the baby in public. That's usually a sure way to let people know you've got this!
You've got such a handsome boy there!

  2. Aw he is way too cute!! Sounds like you guys have been busy! My son had very thick dark hair and everyone told me that it would fall out, but it never did. When my son would get fussy in the store I would try to cheer him up (hold him, bounce him, make faces, etc) but I wouldn't leave unless he was really screaming.

  3. He is a doll, thanks so much for sharing his first month with us! Can't wait to see more of that cute face!!!! :)

  4. He is such a doll! I love the pics!

  5. Oh my word, Travis is PRECIOUS! Stopping by from the GFC Blog Hop :) Have a fabulous week!
